The Ousburn Valley is an ever-expanding cultural hub, and when Richard began work on ‘Kiln’ his two-in-one bar and pottery studio, he decided to keep his suppliers local.
Conveniently located directly opposite the new bar, Quay Timber was able to provide the Kiln team with all their timber needs...
The bar is conjoined to a pottery kiln, where all manner of ceramics are sculpted and fired. This makes for a unique and interesting addition to the culture of the Ouseburn valley!
Tongue and groove larch was used to build the bar and centrepiece table. The softwood can be hard to work with, but no pain no grain! The surfaces were finished with Osmo Clear Natural Oil for water (and beer) repellency giving them a clean shine.
Oak doors and decking board cladding lend a chicness to the shabby cool aesthetic of the space. Check Quay Timber's range of oak doors here.
Kiln are now open for business with a cornicopia of delicious mediterranean food and refreshing craft beers. You could stop by for a pint after a hard days graft!
