An oak mantle could provide a stunning centrepiece for any living room, giving your home a classy rustic aesthetic with timeless stlye.

2. A stylish set of steps for a sloping garden.

Here some treated hardwood sleepers have been used to step a garden, with some white gravel in the space to create an eye-catching contrast.

3. A chunky bed base.

There’ll be no danger when falling out of this bed! Oak sleepers stacked side by side to create a sturdy slab of oak. (Add a mattress and pillow for extra comfort!)

4. Raised bedding.

Not just a bed for you, but one for your favourite garden plants! One classic use for sleepers is to add a raised bed to your garden or allotment, think of all the funky shapes you could put together with a little bit of planning.

5. An edgy coffee table.

Love the look or hate it, some thick heavy furniture will be sturdy for years to come and definitely provide a statement piece for your living room. There is a pretty limitless scope for creativity when it comes to railway sleeper furniture, just make sure you plane any treatments off if you plan on using the wood indoors.
